See what people are saying:

Oblivious Investing does a fantastic job of laying out the “buy and hold” strategy in layman’s terms that anyone can understand. For a person who simply wants to begin investing their money for the long term but doesn’t want to spend every day praying at the altar of CNBC, Oblivious Investing is a great read.”
- Trent Hamm from The Simple Dollar

“There’s no reason not to begin investing after reading this book; everything you need is right here.”
Beth from Smart Family Tips

“An ideal gift for a recent college graduate or a reformed hyper-consumer getting serious about saving for retirement.” –Kyle from Amateur Asset Allocator

About the Book

Oblivious Investing is not written to be an “everything-you-need-to-know-about-personal-finance” sort of book.

Rather, the book is a story that seeks to convey one idea–the idea that long-term investing is a fairly straightforward endeavor, and it has absolutely nothing to do with all the craziness that we see in the markets from month to month.

Why is the book written as a story?

Investment books typically deal with data, charts, and so on. Investing in real life, however, deals with emotions–uncertainty, excitement, greed, confusion, fear, etc.

Oblivious Investing is written as a story in the hope of bringing the experience of reading the book closer to the real life experience of creating and implementing an investment plan.

In other words, the goal of the book is not just to explain the principles of prudent investing, but also to prepare you for some of the psychological challenges that will arise during a lifetime of investing.

Who is the book written for?

While the principles outlined in the book (diversification, long-term investing, minimizing costs, etc.) certainly hold true regardless of age or experience, Oblivious Investing is written primarily with younger investors in mind.

It’s intended to provide a starting point for:

  • people who are just beginning to invest, or
  • people who have already started but don’t feel entirely confident that they’re making the right decisions.

If that describes you (or someone close to you), I’d encourage you to pick up a copy–it’s priced at just $10.80 on Amazon.
